Our moving lights won’t turn on

Need some light on the stage and are not sure how? This article will explain how to ‘flip the switch’ on certain lights that require it.

Most of the moving lights we use require you to ‘Lamp On’ the fixture. To "Lamp On" is to flip the switch which allows the bulb to turn on or strike.

To Douse a lamp is to turn the switch off in a controlled method, rather than just pulling the power plug.

LED moving lights, Source Four or dimmer controlled lights do not need to be Lamped On.

This method is only necessary on moving lights, DMX controlled, and require a physical lamp rather than an LED.

How to Lamp On

Remember this process is Only for moving lights which are DMX controlled. LED light do not need this process to turn on.
It's a great idea to start this process by hitting the 'Clear' button and the 'Release' button.
These two buttons should release any programming errors that might be preventing the light from coming on.
Before you move to Step 1, Please double check that the light will not come on after you have cleared and released it.
If it still hasn't change intensity, Please move on to Step 1.

Step 1: Go to the "Patch" window.

Step 2: Turning the light on or off.

You can either "Strike" or "Douse" a fixture.
Strike = Lamp on
Douse = Lamp off

Step 3: Selectedwhat fixtures it applies to.

You can click either "Selected Fixtures" which will apply to only the fixtures you have highlighted on the screen,

or you can click "All Fixtures" which will apply to all the lights that requires being "Striked."
