The steps below will walk you through setting up Multi Factor Authentication on your mobile device.
Download Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.

Note: unlike some other apps, the Microsoft Authenticator app is dedicated to authentication and will only ever send you notifications for sign-in events.
Open app and click + to add account.

Select Work or school account.

Click scan QR code.
This will access your camera which you will use on the steps to follow.

Sign into your account by going to portal.office.com. Click Next when you receive this message.

Click Next.
Please Note: Do not click I want to use a different authenticator app. This option will not setup your account correctly.

Click Next.

In the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, scan the QR code on your screen.

You will receive a prompt with a number on your screen. Enter the provided number into the Microsoft Authenticator app.

When you receive the message below. You're all set! Click Done.

In the mobile app, you will see your account listed under Accounts
