TV or Projector Displaying Magenta, Yellow, White, or Cyan

Occasionally when equipment is powered up for the day, lobby TVs may turn on and appear Smurf blue.

This article will help you troubleshoot why a TV or a Projector at your campus might have turned a solid color and how to fix it.  

Decimator Color Standard

If you see one of the solid colors within your building, please call the Tech Help line immediately. 

We will use the given color that you communicate to help us troubleshoot the source of the problem. 

This color standard can save us precious time during the weekend and help us help you get up and running in minutes. 

 

Yellow = Stage Display at FOH Video

Magenta = Desk Input at FOH Video

White = Projectors (whole building)

Cyan = Loop/Konnect Booth 

Red = TVs (whole building)

Troubleshooting Color Issues on Your Lobby TVs:

The information below helps you troubleshoot your Lobby TV or other TV within the building. It can still be used in principle to help troubleshoot each step. Please be aware that the Decimators (red boxes) have replaced AJA Hi5s throughout our buildings.

You will find a Hi5 on top of the Lobby TVs. Please unplug this box by rotating the locking connector counterclockwise and pulling out. Then plug it back in and rotate the connector until it clicks to lock.

If these steps did not fix the issue, please proceed to the next step.

If you have a pair of TVs, you may find an HDMI splitter with an HDMI cable going to each TV. Unplug this splitter and plug it back in.
