Ross Switcher - Side, Scenic, and Center Screens

Updated on

The Ross Carbonite Black Solo controls three different screens or output layers at Life.Church. This article covers the control and best practices for all three layers. We will cover sending source material to the side screens, the scenic projection screen, and the motorized center screen.

These three buttons are the most important part of the Ross Carbonite Black Solo. The user must know which button (layer) is selected at all times. The Program and Preview rows are used no matter which layer is selected; this is why being aware of the selected layer is important.

We'll first go over each layer individually.

Side PJ:

The Side PJ button selects the layer that controls the two outside projectors.

The output of this source is referred to as program or live (PGM). This layer is the home base for operating a service.

After selecting this button, the two rows of buttons known as "Program" and "Preview" select a source that will be transitioned to the side screens. You can visually see what sources are on Program and Preview by looking at the two large boxes at the top of the multiview TV. Additionally, the selected source buttons will be lit up in the program/preview rows.

Scenic PJ:

The Scenic PJ button selects the layer that controls the output to the scenic projection or the large backdrop behind the stage.

The scenic projector is also used to display the lyric videos during Worship.

Center PJ:

The Center PJ button selects the layer that controls the content on the center motorized screen.

The center projector is used to display the message portion of the service. The motorized screen rolls down after worship, at the beginning of the Stage Time. The Center PJ layer also typically switches between PGM and BLK. We leave this on "BLK" during worship, then push the "STG Time" button to switch it to "PGM" during the Stage Time.
