Tech Team Training - Video Volunteer

Updated on

Welcome to the Life.Church Tech Team! We are so glad that you are choosing to use your gifts and talents to serve God on the Tech Team. We are excited to get hands-on and work through experience. But first, we must know a little bit more about the gear that we're using.

Below is an overview of the video gear that we use each and every weekend.

Ross Switcher

The Ross Switcher is the backbone of our video system. It controls which video sources are on which screens. Please review the following articles and videos to get a better understanding of how the Ross Switcher works and how we use it at Life.Church:

ProPresenter Machine:

ProPresenter

ProPresenter is the application that we use to get slides and videos from the ProPresenter computer to the screens during stage time. Using ProPresenter will be a big portion of operating the video booth on a weekend. Please refer to the article: ProPresenter - Basic Operation for more information.

Teams

Teams is the application that we use to communicate between Life.Church campuses. It's a great way to stay up to date on information regarding the weekend.

Satellite Receiver

At Life.Church, we use the Harmonic Proview 8130 and ATEME DR5000 Satellite Receivers. Check your video rack to see which one you have! Each weekend, the sermon comes through this receiver and into our video system. Most issues with the Satellite Receiver can be solved with a simple reboot. To learn how to reboot the Satellite Receiver, refer to these articles: Rebooting the Harmonic ProView Satellite Receiver or Rebooting the ATEME Satellite Receiver
